WMS Overview
Warehouse Management Software is an integral part of a supply chain operation
WMS Overview
A Warehouse Management System (WMS) is the major portion of the Supply Chain and is focused on keeping track of the movement and holding of products inside of a warehouse. Likewise, they are used to process relevant transactions, such as shipping, receiving, picking, and more. Put simply, a Warehouse Management System tracks the progress of goods as it traverses through the various locations in your warehouse. This could include physical warehouse infrastructure, tracking systems, and information related between product stations.
Depending on the size or number of partner companies, your system may be specialized to cover not only a central warehouse but regional warehouses and retail warehouses as well. A strong WMS system will provide 3PL’s, warehouse organizations and businesses a set of digital processes for managing warehouse inventory, space, equipment, and staff efficiently, while also reducing cost and times.
